Sneak Peak at News-2 at 10
I had all these grand plans for the first thoughtful post but then a funny thing happened… work got in the way.
Our 10pm producer Corine Gensler asked my to put together a story on an interview done by one of our reporters today. Chris Bundgaard spoke with the guy behind Nissan’s entry into the electric car field. The car is called The Leaf. Incredibly interesting stuff that was hard to carve down to seventy-six seconds. It will air on News-2 at 10 in a few minutes.
Full disclosure:
Our lead story is about a Smyrna family that is in San Diego and had its house robbed. The hook is the family is there courtesy of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee. One of the children has a life-threatening disease and wanted to go to the San Diego Zoo. It’s no secret that I’m the MAW Board President. I didn’t pitch the story nor did I know a reporter was already working it until midway through the evening. Bob Mueller will introduce it so there’s no conflict of interest.
As I get back into the groove of answering to a daily (Monday through Friday) blog, some days will rock better than others. Our fantastic web producer Christian Grantham spent most of today building this site and we will continue to tinker throughout the coming weeks.
Time to pre-read scripts and apply make-up… (worst part of the job… the second part)
Have a great and safe weekend.
